Memorial Day weekend trip Last day -6/1 Tue

Went to a breakfast buffet at Paris.  We got there at around 8:30, but there was already a wait!  Wow.. it's Tuesday.  I thought I was a lucky one who had an extra day off from work, but I guess so are many many other people!

I really liked this buffet.  I loved the "Paris" atmosphere and the food.  I liked it better than PH's.  But maybe it's because it's breakfast.  I love breakfast food.  Anyways, I wasn't going to eat much because I felt very sick by eating too much the day before, but I think I ended up eating a lot.  Oh well...

Then we went to this pawn shop in downtown.  Gold and Silver Pawn shop is on the TV show "Pawn Star" on History Channel.  It was interesting.  They do have all kinds of stuff there.  I walked into a pawn store for the first time in my life!

We went back to the strip to explore more casinos!

Pretty umbrellas at Palazzo

We were pretty tired from all the walking.  Walking around the casino is so tiring because the casinos are huge!  So we decided to go to the Red Rock Canyon Scenic Drive for a nice drive.  We got there and saw the sign that says "park closed".  Apparently, First Lady Michelle Obama was coming to the park for some charity event!  Luckily the scenic dive was still open.  We were just not allowed to stop at certain spots.

Finally, we checked out the expanded section of the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace.

The trip to Zion/Vegas was so much fun!  Vegas is so close that I want to go there once a year.  On our next visit, I really want to stay at Aria. :)

Memorial Day weekend trip Day 3 -5/31 Mon

It's Memorial Day!

Went for Brunch at Planet Hollywood's Spicy Market Buffet.  That's right.  Vegas = Buffet!!! :)
This buffet is supposed to be one of the best in Vegas.   We got there at 11 sharp, but there was already a line.  The wait was about 30 min.

The food was pretty good!  I ate too much that I actually felt sick afterwards..  hahahaha

Then we walked around the casinos.  Aria, Encore, Vdara, and Palazzo were not there the last time I was here 4 years ago.  They all look so nice and new and starting to make Bellagio look a little old, which is crazy!  Personally I really liked Aria.  I really want to stay there on the next visit to Vegas.

Bellagio's garden - always always amazing!

We had a little time before the show, so we went back to the hotel and went to the pool.  The weather was so perfect for the pool!!  It's been too cold for any water activity in the Bay Area, so I was so happy that I was able to get into the pool!

Then off to the show.  The show we chose to see on this trip is...

THE LION KING..  #1 musical in the world!

It was incredible!  I felt all sorts of emotions while watching this.  The acting, dancing, and singing were superb.  We made the right choice skipping the cirque du soleil show this time and go for the musical.  It was great.

Many many many more pictures on Picasa!! :)

Memorial Day weekend trip Day 2 -5/30 Sun

Woke up early (for us) to go to Zion National Park.  It was amaaazzzing!!  We completed the Emerald Pools trails, the Weeping Rock trail, and the Riverside Walk trail.. total about 5 miles.

(Many many more pictures to share on Picasa!)

Left the park at around 5PM to head back to Vegas.  Stopped at this gift shop for "homemade" ice cream right after we left the park.  It was the BEST ice cream I've ever had!  Or at least it tasted that way..  I was very tired. :)

Memorial Day weekend trip Day 1 -5/29 Sat

Left in the afternoon and got on the plane to Las Vegas.  Rented a car and drove for about 2.5 hours to Hurricane, UT, which is the city (town?) right before Zion National Park.  Stayed at a motel in Hurricane.
